Challengers Of The Realm TCG (Demo)
A downloadable Trading Card Game for Windows
Welcome to Challengers Of The Realm!
In this demo of the upcoming digital version of our TCG you get access to a guided tutorial on how our gameplay works, and the opportunity to play with 2 different pre-constructed decks against an AI opponent!
This project is still in early development and many things could change before the full version releases. Pardon our dust and know that you can expect those early access bugs and problems to be present. We will keep a list of known issues in a channel on our Discord. https://discord.gg/pBxRFNySAH
If you enjoy the gameplay be sure to follow our project on Kickstarter:

Gameplay Basics:
Players start with 100HP and a 6 card opening hand. Before turn 1 you can mulligan by Choosing unwanted cards to put back, drawing back up to 6, and reshuffling the unwanted cards back into the deck.
The Grace System:
Ever been Mana/Energy screwed? That's no fun. We designed a system that ensures more consistent gameplay... IF you can manage it well. Introducing "Grace" the unique resource mechanic in CotR! Each card has a Grace cost that must be paid to play that card. A "Roll For Grace" is the sum of 2 rolled d10s. There is a little luck involved, but this system is MORE consistent than other games and makes for very compelling gameplay.
Flexible Turn Phases: Each turn comprises four strategic stages:
-
Upkeep: Reset your field, harvest resources, then choose to draw once and roll once, draw twice, or roll twice.
-
Prepare: Spend Grace to play cards from hand to field.
-
Engage: Command your Heroes to attack or unleash their abilities.
-
Respond: Your opponent decides how to resolve your Engage decisions and their turn begins
Incada (In-Ka-Da):
Incada is the centroid of power in Ileydria! In our game the Incada stat is used for a number of things. Primarily Incada determines how many Tools a Hero may equip. In the base set it's other use is to determine which Hero is victorious in a Grapple engagement. Going forward we will be adding more ways to utilize this unique mechanic.
Directional Combat:
No extra complicated math. Combat is 1 to 1 unless otherwise stated on a card. A simple 1 way stat check of the Attacker's ATK stat vs the Defender's DEF stat determines the outcome of each engagement. During your Engage Phase, you will declare what actions your Heroes will take, you must declare the entirety of your move at one time, once you have declared the Response Phase begins.
In the Respond Phase the defending player will choose which available Heroes to block specific attacks. 1 to 1 means that each available Hero can block 1 attack under normal conditions.
If an attacker's ATK meets or exceeds a defender's DEF the defending Hero is sent to the Infirmary. If the defender's DEF exceeds the attacker's ATK both Heroes remain on the field.
If your opponent chooses not to block your attack, has no available Heroes to block, or a Hero is using an ability that bypasses opponent defenses the damage strikes their HP equal to the ATK stat of all successful attacks.
The digital future:
Once we have completed our Kickstarter for for Physical TCG we plan on continuing this digital development and creating a 1 to 1 digital experience for our TCG.
Our goals include:
- Deck Building
- Multiplayer support
- Guild Wars support
- Pack Purchasing/Opening
- Quests
- and more!
